I thought and thought about who wins when there is a war. Both sides spend money on bombs and rockets. Money will have to be spent on rebuilding in many places. Who benefits? In my mind, it must be “big finance” that wins. Big banks. Banks are always on both sides, so they say. They are the ones who profit. Big finance and billionaires are the ones who profit.
It’s certainly not the people who live week to week off their paychecks, or month to month off of their social security checks. It’s not the people who just had their SNAP benefits canceled, or their Medicaid stopped. For sure not the people who have lost their homes and all of their possessions and are still having to live in trailers and campers, waiting on insurance to pay, or for their application for government assistance.
It’s surely not the people in the areas where the bombs and missiles have been falling who have had family members killed or injured. Their children killed. No amount of money can make up for that.
The other entity who seems to be benefiting from this particular war at least, is the country of Israel. They have taken over more territory now than at any time since the 1967 six-day war. They don’t intend to give it back either. They also are standing square in the middle of getting a peace settlement with Iran. As a matter of fact, they actually would like to keep on fighting if the truth be told. They are the major reason why a “peace settlement” which the president desperately wants and needs, cannot be reached. Of course, there is not much that United States politicians can do about it, no matter if they are Republican or Democrat, since most of them are in the pocket of aipac, the most powerful political PAC in America, which gave 28 million dollars to politicians during the last presidential election cycle, include many millions to the president himself.
The country of Israel has been given over 300 billion dollars in aid since WWII, (adjusted for inflation) ostensibly for defense, but the citizens of that country have Universal Healthcare, and a robust social safety net that includes: paid parental leave, monthly childcare allowances, income support, and guaranteed higher education subsidies. For people immigrating to Israel there are tons of benefits including: financial assistance, rental assistance, health coverage, reduced property taxes, free language courses (hebrew) tuition benefits, tax free housing appliances (duty and custom free) discounted income tax, mortgage discounts, free flights to Israel, discounts on automobiles, high limits on incoming cash, etc. No wonder they have grown from 6 million residents in 2000 to over 10 million in 2026. No wonder, they need more land on which to settle.
I guess that’s all beside the point since I started out talking about the banks and got sidetracked. I couldn’t help myself though. There are so many, many people in my country…. the United States of America, who could use a little monetary help, much less those wonderful benefits that we are helping another country to pay their citizens, because we just about totally pay for the defense of their country.
Back to the billionaires and the banks and their plot to take over the world and make the rest of us slaves. But…you will have to wait until the next episode now, because my screen time for this day is over. All I can do now is to warn you to use less tech, (more analog) use fewer big banks (go local) become more self-sufficient (learn to garden, fish and hunt) Stop using credit cards…..well, we will talk about it next time. In the meantime, I do love you all.
